Concession Card Information

Cards Eligible for Concession Discounts:

Holders of the following cards are offered a concession rate. The driver must have their current card and drivers license available at the ticket booth at time of paying the fare.

Original cards must be produced – copies are not accepted.

When more than one  name is on the concession card, the primary card holder (first name listed on card) only is entitled to the concession rate.

  1. Pensioner Concession Card – Australian Only
    Only the primary card holder is entitled to the concession rate. Concession fares do not extend to dependents named on the card.
    Pensioner concession is extended to Veteran’s Affairs and TPI (totally and permanently incapacitated) card holders.
    The card holder must be the driver of the vehicle
  2. Companion Card – State and Territories of Australia Only
    A valid Companion Card entitles eligible people to a free ticket for their companion carer. The Bruny Island Ferry Company do not charge for passengers to travel on our ferries. However if the Comapnaion Card holder is also the recipient of a Commonwealth Government Pension then that applicable discount will apply to the vehicle. The person whose photograph and details appear on the Companion Card must show their eligible pension card at time of travel to be entitled to the vehicle concession rate.
    The card holder must be the passenger in the vehicle
    Companion cards are issued to people with significant, permanent disabilities so they can participate in activities for which they require the assistance of a companion.
  3. Commonwealth Seniors Health Card – Australian only
    Only the primary card holder is entitled to the concession rate. Concession fares do not extend to dependents named on the card.
    Commonwealth Seniors Health concession is extended to Veteran’s Affairs Primary Health Card and TPI (totally and permanently incapacitated) card holders. (Repatriation Health Card)
    The card holder must be the driver of the vehicle
